How does Affordable Cremation Planning Center work?

Answer:
Affordable Cremation Planning Center is notified immediately at the time of death. The deceased is then transported to the funeral home where it is sheltered until the death certificate can be signed by the attending physician and or medical examiner. The cremation permit is obtained and the body is then cremated at a local crematorium.

Question:
Do I need to join a society and pay a membership fee to receive the Simple Cremation Package starting at $695?

Answer:
No, we do no require a membership to receive our Simple Cremation Package.

Question:
Is a casket required?

Answer:
No, however the regulations of each crematory generally require a suitable container. The containers we provide are corrugated cardboard and wood.

Question:
Does the body have to be embalmed?

Answer:
No, but factors of time, health, possible legal regulations and religious beliefs might make embalming prior to cremation either appropriate or necessary.

Question:
What happens to the cremated remains after cremation?

Answer:
Your cremated remains (ashes) will be handled according to your written instructions, or returned to your survivors.

Question:
Do I have to purchase an urn for my remains?

Answer:
No, the cremated remains are returned in a simple temporary container, but if you wish, a memorial urn may be purchased.

Question:
At the time of death what is the cost for cremation service?

Answer:
The cost of the cremation service is presently $695.00 plus crematory and permits. The fee is payable at the time services are rendered. The charge for additional services, which we also provide, is more.

Question:
Are there any additional expenses?

Answer:
Yes for death certificates, cremation stamp, and transportation beyond our four county area.

Question:
Is your price for cremation service good for the entire state of Michigan?

Answer:
Yes, Affordable Cremation Planning Center offers this service at one price. There is an additional transportation charge outside of the four county area of Genesee, Livingston, Oakland, and Washtenaw counties (presently $2.00 per one-way mile from our facility).

Question:
May I pre-pay the cremation cost

Answer:
Yes, either through prearrangement insurance or in a separate trust account. 100% of the funds are placed in a separate trust account in a federally insured bank.

Question:
Is this trust and insurance refundable?

Answer:
In accordance with Michigan law, all funds placed in funeral trust accounts and the accrued interest are 90% refundable.

Question:
What other services do you offer my survivors after death?

Answer:
A counselor will assist your survivors in arranging a memorial service, obituary, memorial folders, obtaining death certificates and applying for any benefits such as Social Security and Veterans allowance.

Question:
What if death occurs far from home while on vacation or out of state?

Answer:
We can arrange to have your loved one returned from anywhere in the world at a price to be determined at the time, according to your specific wishes. Or for peace of mind, for those who travel far from home, we have a Travel Protection Plan available at an additional cost for those individuals who have pre-paid.

May I change my instructions in the future?

Answer:
Yes, you may change any instructions you wish by directly contacting us.
